I think the noodles here are usually thick, but if you don't like thick noodles, I don't recommend them. Because they play separately with the sauce, they taste like undercooked flour. (Of course, they're all cooked) And it's a restaurant that entered with joy, but please note that the employee's blunt speech may make you feel bad. But being able to eat at this price in Boston is a good advantage. 꼬레ㅇr 관광객분들은 요기 가쥐ㅁ ㅏ쉐여. 저 ㅎrㄴr로 경험한걸로 만족쓰.

Finally had time to try today. So glad I did. Right off the Mass Pike which is great for me. I got the pulled pork medium spice. Large serving with lots of pork and great thick noodles, off the charts delicious, the broth was heaven. One picture is when I was in my car, the 2nd when I got home and and tossed in a bowl.

Great value for money in Downtown Boston! This place is highly recommended for take out - they are known for the hand pulled noodles and their wonderfully meaty flatbread sandwiches (w. either lamb or pork filling). The hand-pulled noodles are thick and chewy (not my taste, honestly, but undeniably of good quality) and the broth is amazing. The flatbread sandwiches are a perfect lunch, if you are a meat lover. The meat is well seasoned and the flatbread was wonderfully crunchy. Highly recommended and very cheap! (like $7.00 for a sandwich). This place is super small and if you come hered to dine is be ready to use your elbows to get to your spot (either bar spot or just one table). It's also loud and the atmosphere is non existent. If you're looking for a greattly priced Chinese take out to enjoy at home, I'd highly recommend Gene's!

This is probably my favorite place for lunch. I get the #4, extra spicy. It’s essentially just their amazing, thick, chewy noodles with spices, a ton of garlic (in the best way), cilantro, and a little oil. They never miss. Grab a couple of lamb skewers on the side and you won’t regret it! The #4 alone is under $10. They’re super quick as well. Sometimes after ordering online my order is ready in a few minutes.

The house noodles #4 is a banger. Lamb skewers are amazing. Worth every penny. Hot and sour dumplings #11 pictures below, also delicious.

Please trust the low rating reviews and avoid this place! I seriously do not understand the high rating here. I experienced and agreed with everything the low rating reviews said from bad food to poor service. I ordered the hand pulled noodles. They were just super think noodles sitting in oil and covered with chili powder and minced garlic. Didn’t see even one single bean sprout like the description says. Absolutely flavorless and inedible. I also had the lamb hand pulled noodles. The soup was okay, but it didn’t have the layer of oil like the authentic ones. Overall all the noodles are way too thick and undercooked. Very disappointed. Service is nonexistent.

Delicious! Ordered the spicy pork (was able to ask for minimal spice, very kind of them to accomodate me), was ready in minutes — hearty portion, perfect for cold weather, noodles the especial standout for texture and freshness, but we all know broth is king. Small space appropriate for a solo guest or a date, but a space not much for decor — I can see why many people ordered delivery. Food top notch and people friendly; I’m sure Gene’s will have a bigger, prettier venue in the near future.

I saw the good reviews and walked 20+ mins to this restaurant to expect some good food. But when I first walked in I was disappointed. Not a welcoming atmosphere. She just called me “excuse me hello” with a blank face to ask me to pick up my go to order. When I open the food after I get home, it is not much flavored. The soup is very watered down and the noodle is so so so thick…. $14 for this…. I definitely have had much better dishes than here. Totally disappointed! And I’m sad about my food.
